To override a calculated field’s value, make sure that the field is active, then press the Override Calculation button on the Field Actions toolbar.
Once the field has been overridden its value will become empty and it will become editable.
Overridden fields are shown on the form-page using a different color than other fields. In the figure below, line 4 is an entry field, line 5 is a calculated field, and line 6 is an overridden field, when using the default color scheme.
The override operation is reversible. To restore the calculated value of an overridden field just press the Override Calculation button again. For more information click here.
As a less convenient alternative to using the Override Calculation button toolbar button you can use the Edit menu to override the field. Select the Edit menu, then the Field sub-menu, and then the Override Calculation item. This may be necessary if the toolbar has been hidden.
