The program interface provides direct access to all operations needed while preparing a tax return. It has a split screen with the contents of the return on the left and the open form page on the right. Instruction text is shown along the bottom for the tax line currently being edited. All of the operations are directly accessible via one of the three toolbars.

The program promotes a learn as you go theme. It does this by displaying pop-up instruction messages when an action is used for the first time. Each popup instruction message can be hidden after the first time it is shown. This avoids future interruptions while you work. The program also learns from you as you work by prompting you with a question on how to proceed in a common situation, and then remembering the decision and using it the next time the same situation occurs.
