This is actually a set of menu items that each represent a recently opened case file on the File menu. This list exists just above the Exit command at the bottom of the File menu.
There will always be at least one open case named on the menu. Each file name on the menu will have a number in front of it. To open a file on the list either select it with the mouse, or press the key for the number in front of it.
Find this command on the File menu.
Hint: Use the Open History command on the File menu instead. The dialog that is opened contains a much more detailed list of the case files opened in the past, when they were opened and more.
