Restoring an overridden field's calculated value

To restore a field’s calculation after it has been overridden, make sure that the field is active, then press the Override Calculation button on the Field Actions toolbar.

This will restore the field as being calculated so that the calculation determines the field’s value and value previously entered while it was overridden is lost.

Overridden fields are shown on the form-page using a different color than other fields. In the figure below, line 4 is an entry field, line 5 is a calculated field, and line 6 is an overridden field, when using the default color scheme.

To change the field back to its overridden state just press the Override Calculation button again. For more information click here.

As a less convenient alternative to using the Override Calculation button toolbar button you can use the Edit menu to restore the calculation of the field. Select the Edit menu, then the Field sub-menu, and then the Override Calculation item. This may be necessary if the toolbar has been hidden but we always suggest using the toolbar buttons.
