Sometimes it is necessary to copy a value from one field to another. This can be done quite simply by using the Copy and Paste operations. This method is the same as for any other standard Windows based editing program such as Microsoft’s Word or Excel.
Method 1 (Using the accelerator keys):
1) Click on the source field and select containing the text that you wish to copy.
2) Select the text to be copied from the source field.
3) Press and hold the Ctrl key then press the C key (Ctrl+C) (Copies the text onto the clipboard.)
4) Find the target field and click on it.
5) Press and hold the Ctrl key then press the V key (Ctrl+V) (Pastes the text from the clipboard into the field.)
Method 2 (Using the context menus):
1) Click on the source field containing the text that you wish to copy.
2) Select the text to be copied from the source field.
3) Right click on the source field. (The context menu should appear.)
4) Select the Copy item on the context menu. (Copies the text onto the clipboard)
5) Find the target field and click on it.
6) Right click on the target field. (The context menu should appear.)
7) Select the Paste item on the context menu. (Pastes the text from the clipboard into the field.)
A value can also be cut from one field and pasted into another field by using the Cut operation instead of the Copy operation. The Cut operation will place the text on the clipboard and will then delete the value from the source field.
